Simulation and Patient Safety: An International Perspective

A keynote conference hosted by the London Deanery and supported by NHS London to launch the simulation and technology enhanced learning initiative, part of the excellence in education strategy to produce world-class health care professionals for the 21st century.
The opening address will be given by Dr Anne Rainsberry, Director of People and Organisational Development, NHS London. Lord Darzi will give a talk on simulation in surgical training. International invited speakers include Dr Dan Raemer from Harvard – the Role of Simulation in Medical Training; Dr Marcus Rall from Germany – Simulation in Patient Safety; and Dr Amitai Ziv from Israel – the Impact of Simulation Training on Healthcare Provision.
Highlighting London’s contribution to simulation-based education are Dr Roger Kneebone – Hybrid and Contextualised Medical Simulation; Dr Sarah Baillie – The Haptic Cow!; Dr Chris Sadler – Multi-professional Training in Obstetric Practice; and Dr Ian Curran – A Role for Simulation in Training Professionals?
