Fellowships in Medical Education

Applications are invited for appointment to five Fellowships in Medical Education (FME). These unique posts offer an exciting opportunity for Specialty Registrars to develop their experience and skills as medical educators. The Fellowships will commence in September/October 2008 and will consist of an out of programme experience for a period of 6 months (full time) attached to an ‘education unit’ within a London NHS Trust.
The posts are open to Specialist Registrars in run-through training and employment will be through the Trust wherein the Fellowship resides. Payment will be at the relevant point of the specialty training scale.
The following posts are available for a September/October 2008 start*:
• St Bartholomew’s and the London NHS Trust
• Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
• North Middlesex University Hospital Trust
• North West London Hospitals Trust
• Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust

Out of Programme Experience (OOPE)
If short listed for the Selection Day candidates will be required to bring a completed OOPE form with them as evidence that the proposed Out of Programme Experience is supported. This should be fully discussed and explored with the trainee's educational supervisor and training programme director and the completed form should have all of the required signatures.
