Clinical teaching made easy
Clinical Teaching Made Easy is an accessible introduction to clinical teaching for all those who teach in the clinical environment. This practical handbook is based on the monthly Clinical Teaching Made Easy series of London Deanery-led articles published in the British Journal of Hospital Medicine over the last two years.
Edited by Tim Swanwick, London Deanery’s Director of Professional Development and Judy McKimm, an experienced medical and healthcare professions’ educator, the book covers all aspects of clinical teaching and learning, appraisal, supervision and career development. Everyone from established supervisors, postgraduate trainees and undergraduates to more experienced medical educators will find something of interest.
Clinical Teaching Made Easy:
- Covers all areas of health professions’ education, making it relevant for clinical teachers at any stage of development
- Draws on the experience of well-regarded clinical teachers to highlight ‘practice points’
- Is highly practical as theory is always related to teaching and learning practice in the clinical context
- Is written in an easy to follow format with short chapters, sections and diagrams.
You can currently buy the book at the discounted price of £20 from www.quaybooks.co.uk or order using the attached flyer.
This new publication is a first for the London Deanery and the second book from Tim Swanwick to be published in the space of six weeks, the other is 'Understanding Medical Education' published by Wiley-Blackwell. There is also a third publication in the pipeline - 'The ABC of Clinical Leadership' - which comes out in November.
