What are facilitators’ notes?
Facilitators’ notes provide all the information and resources a local educator requires to provide faculty development activities for clinical teachers and supervisors. The learning outcomes are specified and aligned to the activities provided. Slide sets and programmes are included to enable minimal preparation time. Extensive reading lists and support activities are included and evaluation mechanisms provide an opportunity for participants to implement what they have learned into their workplace.
Why?
As Local Education Providers become responsible for ensuring the appropriate support, development, monitoring and regulation of clinical and educational supervision, popular London Deanery courses are offered in a variety of implementation modes for local educators to facilitate.
Who for?
The facilitator’s notes will be useful for all those involved in leading faculty development sessions for consultant colleagues. Facilitators may be existing Deanery educators and clinical educators, local clinical educators with experience of faculty development facilitation, senior nurse educators and external educators with experience of working with clinical teachers.
How to use?
The notes are designed to be able to be picked up and used by any experienced facilitator. It is not necessary for the facilitator to have facilitated this course previously as long as they have proven expertise in facilitating similar courses and interpreting teaching notes of this kind. All sessions and activities in the notes have learning outcomes, recommended timings and slide references attached to them.
Where?
The Faculty Development courses are intended to be used locally.
