Course Managing Trainees in Difficulty: Remediation and Revalidation

Description Aims and Objectives  To share experiences and challenges in this area of work  To explore approaches to remediation including resources available and action planning  To consider the interaction between behavioural factors, health, conduct and clinical performance in trainees in difficulty and how that impacts on remediation  To review relevant governance, HR and regulatory frameworks.  To consider the skills, roles and needs of those involved in remediation. Teaching Methodology  Facilitated small group workshops and breakout groups  Focussed, short plenary sessions  Scenarios and case-based discussions Who should attend this course? All programme directors, educational supervisors, Heads of schools, Associate Deans, Dental advisors and tutors, DMEs, MEMs and MWMs.
